The photography holiday course content can be varied
to suit the individual needs of guests, allowing everyone
to learn at their own pace depending upon their level
of experience and knowledge.
An example of a typical day is outlined below,
but we are flexible enough to let guests choose how
they want to spend their time.
Morning
It
is up to you how soon you rise to shoot in the early morning
light to make the most of your Greek Island photography
holiday course. A traditional Greek breakfast is served
in the main house by our hosts Magda and Markos.
After breakfast the topic for the day is outlined and
the aims and outcomes are discussed. Topics can include:
Topics include:
- Island life
- Portraits
- Landscapes
- Food
We will then set out as a group
visiting locations around the island to take our photographs,
stopping for a mid-morning break. During the morning
there will be opportunities for individual tuition.
Depending upon the time of year and weather we will
include visits to the following:
- wine making
- bakery
- olive picking/pressing
- pottery
- cheese making
Lunch
At
lunch time we will stop and choose one of the many excellent
traditional tavernas offering fabulous fresh food. In
this relaxed atmosphere we have time to discuss what we
have photographed that morning.
After a leisurely lunch we will build upon what we have
learnt and start taking better images with a photographer’s
eye for detail and composition. During this time there
is also the opportunity for individual tuition.
At 4pm we go to the computer suite to download the days
images. Guests will learn how the images can be processed
and stored and also how to use the many effects and techniques
Adobe Photoshop offers to photographers. All guests will
then take part in a critique of the day’s images
and show their best work.
Evening
After
the computer session the remainder of the day is your
own time, however the sunsets are spectacular on the island
and should not be missed so we will have an evening stroll
to the west side of the island to sunset beach where we
can take stunning images as the sun disappears over the
horizon while sipping cocktails, beer or coffee!!
When the sun has gone down there are many options, we
will organise a barbeque evening with traditional food
and drink, visit a taverna for a meal, and even take a
trip to the neighbouring island of Paros. If guests wish
to take images at night they can do so if they have their
own tripod.
